Giving Thanks

Stores are decorated, Christmas carols and holiday songs are playing . . . and the race is on.  Write out the cards, buy the gifts, wrap the gifts, make the cookies, plan the meals, deck the halls – you get the idea.

Thankfully, we have Thanksgiving.  What began as a day to celebrate the harvest is now a day to gather with family and remember our blessings.  What a great concept!

My pecan pie is done, my pumpkin cheesecake is in the oven and I have a few minutes just to sit and think of everything I am grateful for. So many things – a roof over my head, enough food, an income – but mostly for my family and also my friends.  Because, really, it’s not the “things” in our lives that matter – it’s the people that bring true joy to our lives.  Oh yes – and the puppies do too!

As an artist, I am also thankful for your support of my work. It’s a difficult thing to put one’s creations out there for people to like – or not. I’m so grateful that my work has been well received.  I just launched my ArtFire site last night – and I am thrilled to have a sale already!  In appreciation for your support and in celebration of my new ArtFire site, I would like to offer you a 10% discount on Small Business Saturday, 11/27.  Please use coupon code SBS2010 on your purchase from my ArtFire Studio.  Good on anything except fundraiser pieces.  Happy Thanksgiving to all!
